Q: Daily Affirmations - Do They Work?

Q: Daily Affirmations - Do They Work?
Even research has shown repeatedly the power of positive self-talk!

Positive affirmations have been used to lower stress levels and heighten athletic performance. People cope more easily when going into new social gatherings and are less likely to make downward social comparisons when they practice self-affirmations.

Participants of one study that actually verbalized said self-affirmations before any new social encounter reduced their negative thoughts of being rejected and compared to other people and/or groups.

So how do you affirm yourself?

You deliberately and consciously make positive statements about yourself in your mind and aloud that inspire and nourish your being.

If a statement feels frighteningly exciting, that is good sign - because you're pushing the edges of your comfort zone to grown and expand.

If it feels great to think an affirmation, then it is right and you're on target.

General or glowing affirmations about yourself don’t necessarily work in the time frame you always want -they usually take much longer. But if persist, they do work! Make no mistake about it.

The more loving attention you put on a self-declaration, the more quickly it will manifest.

An important note worth mentioning: putting attention on any affirmation does not mean suffocating it to death with exaggeration, impatience, irritation or anger. Being in a hurry is a not a loving supportive feeling. You would never thirve or flourish in such a toxic environment nor will your intentions. However, when you put your attention on a single positive self declaration with patience and gratitude it will feel like a mantra -gently spoken and without attachment . . .you want the affirmation with an open and vulnerable heart without feeling desperate or anxious to achieve it.
  • When doubts or other negatives thoughts surface, treat them as if you were sitting in meditation:
  • Observe them peacefully and curiously without self judgment...as if you are experiencing these new thoughts for the first time.
  • Notice and acknowledge your self doubts and DO NOT FIGHT OR RESIST THEM.
For example,
  1. If you feel afraid, say, 'so be it' without judgment. Affirm: we all experience the feeling of fear, so what.
  2. If you feel lonely, say, 'so be it' without judgment. Affirm: I maybe alone and when I honor myself my loneliness is history.
  3. If you make a mistake, say, 'so be it' without judgment. Affirm: I give myself permission to be human and making mistakes is human.
  4. If you feel angry, say, 'so be it' without judgment. Affirm: I have the power to choose to respond or react and I choose be accountable daily and I decide when I give or keep my personal power.
You get the picture...go ahead and practice this.

The more you acknowledge the doubts without struggle, the more quickly they will go away. Always return to your affirmation, like you would go back to a mantra after a distracting series of thoughts.

Following this method will speed up your progress in creating and living from your loving self-affirmations.

"Be to you as you would to your best friend."

MORE Sample Affirmations: :
  • I do what needs to be done in my personal life/business life/health/family life/children(s) life. Choose one focus and make that your daily mantra.
  • I do what needs to be done to live a healthy life.
  • I do what needs to be done to contributes to others.
  • I do what needs to be done that is challenging before doing what's fun.
  • I do what needs to be done to build my area of weakness.
  • I am the type of person who cares, listens, thinks and grows.
  • I am the type of person who focuses on others rather than being self centered
  • I am the type of person I admire.
  • I am the type of person others admire
Write down your daily affirmation give them fuel to manifest 100x faster then post them where you can see them numerous times everyday.

Until Next issue. . . thrive!

Your Biz: Is Your TV Robbing You?

Are You A TV Junkie?

Are you trading your real life for countless hours in front of the "numb tube"?

Don't get me wrong, I
'm a huge fan of "DANCING", but I usually watch the last 15 minutes of the program just to see the outcome vs. spending an hour or two watching the whole thing. And on occasion, I will watch it recorded, without commercials, at a later time or day.

Have you ever kept track of how many hours you spend watching TV in a week?

If you want to grow your business, you must recognize and remove ALL the activities that "COST" you much MORE than wasted time because e
verything we do has a price.

Make sure you're not cheating yourself and your business, by spending too much "down time"!

According to Veronis Suhler Stevenson's Communications Industry Forecast and Report, quoted by the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2003, the average American spent 1,745 hours watching television, which works out to 145 hours a month.

That's 6.04 days - more than SIX - 24 hour days in front of the TV each every month.

How many hours PER DAY?
A whopping 4.8 hours.

Imagine, what you could do if you cut your TV time in half or more?

Imagine how much more prospecting you would make?
How many follow ups you could find time for?
How many clients you could close?

The choice is yours! We always make time for the top 3 things in our lives.

When will you decide to manage your time effectively?

Your Biz: The Art of Saying "NO" Effectively!

As a coach I am always on the lookout for ways people sabotage their own success.

There is one DESTRUCTIVE habit that many are plagued with regardless of age or background. The habit of saying 'yes' when they should be saying "no".
As a result, these people:

  1. Feel victimized, resentful and angry at themselves and others.
  2. Damage their self-esteem greatly and
  3. Waste their valuable Power (Time, Money and Energy) .

What about you? How often do you say "yes" to a client when you really mean "no"? If you struggle in this area, this article is for you.

Let's discuss why it feels SO difficult to turn people down...

The 1st Key Factor is most people have an enormous fear of rejection. They want everyone to like them, and by saying "yes" they ensure others do. However, saying "yes" when you mean "no" is a major form of selling yourself out. You are denying your authenticity from shining through and you're no longer leading by example. Don't fall into the trap of the ego-self saying, 'that's ok, it's worth doing whatever it takes as long as people like you!

The 2nd Key Factor is most people have a great fear of confrontation. At some point in your life you learned when people get upset or angry they are dangerous; so you avoid confrontation at all costs.

Keep in mind: Speaking YOUR truth is absolutely CRUCIAL for

  • Reaching High levels of Leadership!
  • Having Integrity, Passion & Purpose.
  • Developing High Self-confidence, Self-Respect and Self-Esteem.
  • Making Money and Adding value in the Market Place!

Here are some ways to say "no" effectively:

1. Be clear and firm about your decision. You're more than half there, when you've reached a decision to say "no". Your clarity will help you follow through and you'll communicate your message clearly to the other person.

2. Begin by acknowledging, thanking, or saying something positive to the inviter/invitation - make sure it's something sincere - Eg.“Thank you for thinking of me…"

3. Communicate your decision immediately. Avoid the temptation to say: "I'll get back to you" when you already know you want to say "no."

4. Make the reason for declining about YOU, not about the opportunity or other person. Eg. you could say - you already have maxed out your commitments to charities this year, or you've promised yourself you don' t lend money to friends; or you've promised your family that you would not take on any new projects that interfere with family time. By making the rejection about you, this reduces the likelihood of the other person taking the "rejection" personally....and who can disagree with you when you're time is maxed!

5. Speak your truth, even if you feel scared or intimidated. Strangely enought, it's better to say "no" and have a blow up than it is to be out of integrity by lying. Don't waste your energy worrying about handling the situation perfectly - just do it!

6. No apology needed; no need to defend your decision.

I invite you right now, to identify 1 place you are saying "yes" when you mean "no." You dont wnat to be filling your time with clients who drain your energy, so be willing to make room in your business for quality clientts to come in.

Begin by deciding to be true to yourself. If you're afraid, that's ok and normal, just continue to feel what you need to and still take the steps mentioned above to get back on track! I know you can do this - it's as easy as CHOOSING!

Your Health: 7 Common Foods that Cause Intolerance!

(NaturalNews)
Many people claim that their health improves tremendously by cutting out various foods. Avoiding food intolerances can be a huge step in minimizing ill health and boosting your wellbeing.

Here are the 7 most common food intolerances.

Sugar
If refined sugar was discovered today, it might be classed as a poison. It gives nothing to the body of any value. It causes the energy levels to become imbalanced, and a whole range of other possible symptoms including extreme fatigue. While it may give people with low energy a quick boost, there will be a low that follows, which causes sugar craving. Cravings are associated with obesity and many illnesses. Fortunately there are many amazing alternatives to sugar. (Stevia is one of the best!)

Caffeine
Many people live on caffeinated drinks such as coffee, coke, or red bull because of the short but sweet energy rush. However, caffeine causes adrenal gland exhaustion, which is a foundation for fatigue and ill health.

Wheat
Wheat can zap, energy, cause foggy head, and create pain in the digestive and urinary track systems. Many people find that their weight begins to drop and their mind is clearer when they reduce or give up wheat.

Gluten
Gluten includes wheat, oats, rye and barley. While wheat is the most common problem, some people need to take the extra step and avoid all gluten-containing foods.

Alcohol
Many people find that they feel much better when they reduce or cut out alcohol. Some people are able to have one type of alcohol and are required to avoid other types.

Yeast
Yeast overgrowth (also known as Candida) is a major player in many illnesses. While some people who have yeast overgrowth in their body can still consume yeast without negative consequences, others feel much better when they avoid it completely.

Nightshade Family
The nightshade family (green peppers, aubergine or eggplant, tomatoes and white potatoes) is known to increase pain for some people. Avoiding these can be especially beneficial for people with chronic pain.
